Visited Bydalen in Sweden last week. I usually ski in Åre when I ski in Sweden but wanted to try a new place. Bydalen is located about 70 km from the airport in Östersund but we traveled by car from Stockholm a 650km trip, it was snowing quite heavily to it took us about 7 hours.
We have just arrived :-)
We had a lot of fresh snow during the week and there were not many people there, usually we could ski around without seeing anyone else.
Some thoughts about the place.
Pros:
Almost no people there so you can find fresh snow many days after last snow fall
Easily accessible off-piste
Cons:
Small system
Only t-bar lifts
No huts/restaurants on the mountain only in valley
Not steep enough for us
We had a great week but that was mostly because of the weather. I guess the experience would be better if we would know where to go off-piste, we skied beside the pistes but didn't want to go further away without a guide.
So if you want a place with lot of restaurants, large ski system and fast lifts this isn't the place for you but if you want a quiet place with easy access to off-piste this could be the place.

Thanks for that - always interesting to see somewhere new... powder skiing under floodlights looked fun!

Interesting. Thanks for the review.
