I'm looking to book flights to Geneva now and accommodation in St Gervais / Flaine / Les Houches / etc some time in January. I don't want to miss the opportunity to buy tickets at good prices, on the other hand the conditions at the moment are obviously very difficult. Wait until some snow finally falls, or hope that by 2-6 April there will have fallen enough and go ahead and book?
We're intermediate level, so looking to ski mostly blue and red runs, not much in the way of off-piste.
Book tickets for Easter / Chamonix area now, or wait till snow conditions improve?

Conditions right now are no indication of what Easter will be like, so should not influence your decision at all. Period.
If you can get good prices now, then get it booked. If/when the snow arrives, all the people who were waiting will be booking and the prices will go up!
We might get shedloads of snow for the rest of the season that all melts on March 31st... although it probably won't... 8)
