Can anyone tell me what the conditions are like in March? I'm thinking of goin to Austria in March 07 for my 2nd hol (going to Andorra in Jan) and am wondering how good the conditions normally are.

We went to Niederau 1st week in March 06 and had a good week, the conditions on the top of the mountain were very good (fresh snow during the week) but down on the lower slopes this turned to rain and made them a bit slushy.
You could maybe hang on till nearer the time and check out the conditions.
Cheers

Hi,

we had superb conditions few years. Good snow laid down during Jan & Feb, fresh snow almost daily.
This was in Dachstein, have a group going 10th March £385, B&B accommodation, 6 days lift pass, transfers and 2 evening meals.
140kms of intermediate piste or off-piste on the Krippenstein.

give me a call if interested: 01209 613242
or email: info@ohactive.com

Be good to hear from you Trevor

We went to Saalbach 5th March 2005 and had over a metre of snow that week, in fact the top half of the mountain was shut one afternoon 'cos of it.
As a relative beginner it was great fun going 'off piste' on the piste.

It's all random anyway

We went to Alpbach during the first week of March 2006 and the snow was fantastic, apparently the most they'd had for quite some time. Hoping to go back this year, same week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it'll be the same. Good luck!
