Me and my wife are off to work the French ski season in La Plagne and our chalet doesn't have wifi so we need to get a PAYG sim card with 3g so we can use the internet on our phones.

I was wondering if anybody knew which was the cheapest company to use? and which company has the best coverage.

I use a different solution which I find both effective and economic. I bought a "web cube"" potable wi fi. The cube was about ££60 I use 3. I pay only 5 euro per month, can top up any time. Can't down load films but it's ok fo email and general use of Internet. The other advantage is up to six devices can use at anyone time.. I have tried several other solutions including buying a sim in the country I am in , which I found to be cheaper than using a uk provider. But portable wi fi I find is best.

Hope this gives you another idea to consider

Pretty rare when you don't get wifi in 2013.. One of our friends used Le FrenchMobile (http://www.lefrenchmobile.com/) last year so he could check emails etc, not too sure how long delivery takes though..
