Mid march... You should be fine wherever you go, but saying that, you never can tell... if could see the future...!

anyway, PDS has always been perfect for me and never had any problems, but, I do advise caution with Morz, it's the lowest of the French pds and might be sketchy... so, Chatel and Avoriaz are always last to close in the pds so they're your best bet

I don't think you will have any issues with either. Both regions have have and low points but March isn't late.

I regularly ski in the Grand Massif in Mid-end March and the snow conditions have been fantastic and the weather is generally sunnier. It it gets really warm and slushy (quite rare in mid March) in the afternoons then head to the top of Flaine where you will not be disappointed.
Sometimes I drive over to Porte de Soleil in Mid March but always aim for Avoriaz as the snow in Let Gets and Morzine can be poor on the lower runs.

if it was my choice I would coose Le Pertes du Soleil for it's more extensive range of skiing ....

I have booked flights to Geneva for 21st March
and fancied La Clusaz, will Chamonix be a better snow bet or is La Clusaz generally ok that time of year?

Yes. La Balme, in particular, is usually good into April but most of the ski area should be ok in March.

What sort of skiing are you after?
