Hi all

Am thinking about La Plagne for March next year (nothing like planning ahead). Have been looking at package deals that place you in Plagne Soleil. How easy is it to get to Plagne-Centre from there without resorting to bus? Do you have to go up and down a couple of times or is there a run through the nursery slopes - thought I saw something green on map but can't tell which way it goes (without t-bars preferably, hate 'em)?
I am a cautious intermediate but OH can get down most things no problem.
Also we don't normally go as late as March. Plan is to go the week after French schools go back. Is the snow generally Ok there in March?
Any help gratefully received.

I think you can ski down to Plagne Centre from there OK - PS is only just up the road from PC.

Snow wise you'll be fine - PS is at over 2000m, and PS at 1900m - if there's no snow there there won't be snow anywhere!

Hi Beth, La Plagne is a great resort, the snow conditions are usually very good right through into April. March weather is usually lovely and warm but that does mean the pistes become slushy into the afternoon. The resorts of la Plagne are all linked by a combination of buses, gondola etc. This is quite a comprehensive service and runs late into the evening in most villages.
there are easy links from Soleil to plagne centre by ski, gentle blue runs and its not far, though it can be a busy section.

la plagne is one of the best intermediate cruising resorts in the French alps, enjoy!

I agree with the previous comments. My son when aged 4 could ski this route.Easy Ski down to Bellecote, Colloses drag or chair lift, then choice of several blue pistes down to Plagne centre. Maximum of 20 minutes for a reasonably competent skier . Return journey involves taking the Bergerie chair out of Plagne centre ( go through the arch under the hotel France and go to the bottom of the piste straight ahead to find it) Take the Trieuse piste down to Bellecote and then first stage of the Roche de Mio bubble back to Belle Plagne. You can avoid the bubble and ski all t.he way from the top of the chair by turning right off the Triese piste just above the Triesse restaurant and taking a very well used off piste path that cuts across under the Col de Forcle drag lift and joins the Les Ours piste which runs into Belle Plagne.
Strongly recommend this area, massive amount of skiing, good interlinked lift system where you seldom meet a queue. Cheaper than 3 Vallies, and the piste is better managed and maintained.
