I have been trying to organise four days skiing in the first week of March next year and am struggling because of lack of good flights from Dublin and also lack of accommodation for short stays. I have put up various posts recently and have had some great help but nothing as yet.
Anyway here goes again!
I can get Good cheap flights to Milan Melpensa arriving on a Wednesday night and returning on a Sunday night. I have been to Cervina and loved the town but not the skiing and have thought of going to Sauze d'Olux and wanted to know has anyone done the same from Milan?
Also does anyone have any other Ideas???
Thanks again.
When in doubt?....Flat out.

Champoluc - used Malpensa for a short break of 4 days, as they usually have late flights out which gave us until 4 or 4:30 skiing on the day we flew home

Take a look at Madesimo only just over 2hrs from Malpensa and ideal for a 4 night break.....skiing from 1500m up to 3000m so pretty snowsure for March and the famous off piste itinerary the Canalone is on offer should you be inclined for some off piste.

Gareth

Forget Milan. For short breaks out of Dublin, the best option is Munich. I just checked and you can get a flight out on Wed, 6th March and back on Sun 10th for €131 (bags extra). There is a flight at 7am which would enable you get in an afternoon's skiing on Wednesday or a flight at 4pm. The flight home on Sunday is at 8pm so you should be able to get most of a day's skiing on the Sunday.

From Munich, it is only 90 minutes to Soll or any of the other resorts in the Skiwelt. Another 30 minutes will get you to a wide selection of extra resorts.

Gareth, if you drop an email to the skiwelt tourist office, and be specific in your needs, dates, rooms, HB etc, they will circulate to all accomodations in their area. The hotels/pensions will then contact you direct. I got a terrific offer for Scheffau this way.

From Munich, you can also access Kitzbuhel, the Wildschönau, (I will be in Niederau that week), Alpbachtal.

Happy hunting!

It's a long trek to Sauze, unless you can tie in with the Eurostar to Oulx http://www.fsitaliane.it/homepage_en.html
Probably better to head North.
