Most early European ski resorts evolved from local villages or inns over many years.
Name the first European ski resort that was designed and built specifically to be a ski resort. That is trails, base chalet and lodgings were all built for skiing on mountain that had no village, inn or hotel previously.
Now if you want to earn one extra point also name the family that was behind this project ( that financed the complete project ).

Aren't they all marketed as such? Anyway, I tried.. I am actually torn between the couple particularly ugly that I've seen, both claimed to be unique in one respect or the other, but no idea if any was actually the first::)
