Don't know about Andorra or Spain but I can offer a few general pointers. We went to Obergurgl last year in mid-March and even though it's high, the snow at resort level was slushy by afternoon. I think you just have to accept that in spring. The consolation was a week of blue skies - it was gorgeous. You will definitely need to choose a high resort. As for prices, bear in mind that lots of other people might be trying to fit in a late ski trip, particularly during school holidays. So, don't count on prices falling dramatically, unless you are prepared to hold off booking until the last minute. That's just my opinion. We're off to Saas Fee in a couple of weeks and I'll be interested to see what conditions are like.

Need to go high altitude, Europe just had is first warm week which has worried a lot of people.
If it was me I would book something soon and virtually guarantee decent skiing rather than waiting and not being able to get to anywhere with ok slopes. On the other hand the end of the season could be fantastic.
How much of a gambler are you.
I am off to Tignes during Easter, not a gambling man and booked before xmas. Got bored of shopping and cheered myself up with another trip.

I love slush-poor mans powder!!
Best advice as always is that if you can wait to see how things are closer to the time then do. Just because the low lying resorts are 'low' doesn't necessarily mean things will be poor.
I don't have kids so I'm not privy to the holiday dates but know they're later this year for Easter. The lower lying Austrian resorts are normally scheduled to close around the 18th of April. Ischgl is always a good bet into May and there are several others that would also be a safe bet if you need to book sooner rather than later.
You ask about Andorra and Spain. The Pyrenees by all accounts haven't had such a good year snow fall wise and by April things can be warm which is a dangerous combination, there's also the Ski Sierra Nevada in southern Spain.

Hi Mark,
I don't know the reason for sure as to why the lifts are closed, but the webcam at the bottom of this page Bormio Webcams may give you a hint.
The good news, is that the cams higher up the page seem to show that it may be snowing again.
