Hi guys

Nendaz and verbier is in the 4 vallees switzerland with a ski pass for the whole region of the 4 vallees you can ski to verbier.

Do you guys know how long it will take to ski from Nendaz to Verbier?

How many ski lifts will you have to take to get there?

What kind of ski lifts chair or drag?

If you could help me on this

Much appreciated

Many thanks

Not skiied from Nendaz myself but it looks, from the Verbier piste map, to be quite a hike - about 5 lifts (2 or 3 gondolas, a drag and maybe a chair or two) and a mix of pistes to get you over into Verbier via Tortin.

The return journey is more and interesting requires you to do at least two off-piste itineraries from several possible routes. The off-piste itineraries in the 4 valleys are generally safe and won't trouble you too much if you're confident away from marked runs - snow conditions can obviously be very variable and will make a huge difference, however.

Hope that helps,

Powderhound

Hi thanks for the reply

Is the portes du soleil alot easier to get around the 615 km of pistes?

I won't have to take as much lifts as i have to do with going from nendaz to verbier right?

thanks in advance

From Haute Nendaz the quickest way is chair to Tortin and then up the Tortin bubble where you emerge at Lac des Vaux and are in the Verbier domain proper.

Going back you have to ski either Tortin or Col de Gentianes which are both itineries where you have to be a confident off piste skier. Alternatively there is a bubble (Tortin) or cable car (col des g).

Be careful........!!!!

If you are staying in Verbier and you ski over to Nendaz - that you leave enough time to get back.

We didn't and ended up stuck in Nendaz and had to take the post bus down to Sion and then a train along to Martigney and then the gondala up to Le Chable etc.

We got back to our chalet at 10 at night.....!!!

Nendaz is rather isolated because it relies on a single telecabine to connect to the 4 Valleys, and a non-trivial black if you want to ski back. It's also somewhat over-developed in relation to the lift capacity. La Tzoumaz is much less well-known but now has a high-speed telecabine to the summit between it and Verbier. It has 55Kms of its own skiing and you can ski or telecabine into Verbier in 20 minutes and happily ski the 200Kms or so of Verbier until about 3.30pm before you have to think about returning. La Tzoumaz is mainly apartments for rent - typically about £600/week for a 2-bedroom place with underground parking.
