Off to Grand Massif in March but also now looking at booking our first 'family' :( holiday for Christmas week. We'll probably go accomodation only, with a 12 year old whose a bit fussy on food. My question forumites...how easy/hard is it to find a Christmas day lunch, and where (in Italy) would you recommend for chrimbo week? Much love brammers

We did Xmas this year in Alpe D'huez and was very surprised with what we found.
Xmas seemed to be just another day. If you didn't know it then you would not have known it was anything special. I think you will have absolutely no problem getting fed, all the restaurants will be open as usual but if you want a proper christmas dinner then you may need to find a place specifically offering this and book.

Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

Snapzzz - that's brilliant, thanks. Hope it's the same for Italy :-)
Now just need to find a decent HB hotel (or cheap chalet for 6) ;-)
