Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I work for an evil faceless multinational bank who block various websites - facebook, youtube, etc.

However, the worst crime is that the majority of ski resort webcams are blocked!

"Audio/Video Clips" content is only permitted on Exception by EvilBank policy.

Gaaahhhh!! It's miserable here!

I feel for you!

However as I'm an IT geezer working in an IT consultancy firm we don't bother with filtering as we all know too many ways round them!

IP Proxy is what you want - however that may mean that (HSBC?) sack you for Gross Misconduct.

I looked today, they look snowy ;)

That reminds me....off to look at webcams :)
nice company I work for with free access to facebook, twitter, anysite - advantage of being 'senior', still smile like a little boy

I have thought about the proxy route, but as you say, misconduct and I might get fired!

I would check the webcams when I get home, but the problem with it being winter is that they are all dark by then!

I'll just have to make do with the odd one or two which seem to slip through their net.

As another person who runs a network, I should stress that it is not worth trying to find ways round the filters.

If your network is even half decent, it will log pretty much everything you do, and then you will get caught bang to rights

Proxies are a huge problem at my school, and the only solution which really works is harsh punishment when caught.

At the end of the day, your employere will state that you are there to work, not look at webcams. Even on "lunch time", they are unlikely to allow access to various things. As already suggested, get yourself a phone or tablet capable of showing the camera over a plug in connection.
