Does anyone know when the new schedule for TGV's to Oulx is being released. I/We are off to Sauze on 17th Dec and decided to "DIY" there going Bristol to Paris by Easyjet and then (using the then issued schedules of RailEurope (daily trains to Oulx!!!!)TGV with a bit of a party en-route. Seemed like a good idea at the time so booked the flights early 'cause its cheaper only to find out mid Oct that the Frogs have changed the train schedule for the first time in ages but have yet to tell anyone what it is. Interestingly can get to Briancon though but then have to get a transfer.

So at Le Moment looks like a ski party for 6 days in some hotel in Paris. HELP!!!

I've just checked sncf-voyages.fr and RailEurope.co.uk and neither could come up with a timetable. SNCF couldn't find any trains for that day. I suggest phoning the London Travel Centre for more advice.
Tel number:
0844848 4064

Opening Times:
Monday to Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday 9am-6pm

They can book the travel and send you the tickets.

Good luck. We've made the journey as far as Modane on the Italian border to ski in the Maurienne Valley and it was a fabulous trip.

It should be 07.42 - 13.24 or the night train at 20.33. Normally they release 3 months ahead, not sure why they aren't.

It may be that they are all booked out. Start of the school holidays etc. Trains going from Paris to Lyons and Chambery will be very heavily booked.

As you say, could try trains to Briançon, there is a couchette train. You can then get a bus or taxi from there to Sauze... Or alternatively only as far as Montgenevre and then ski the rest of the way !!!

Once you get to Turin there a quite a number of trains that stop in Oulx.
Couldn't figure out the ticket office in Turin & saw that there was a train that seemed to be going to Oulx & got on it. No one came along to sell/check tickets & the journey took rather longer than the net had led me to believe so got a bit worried for a while that I might not be on the right train! Nice old lady explained to me that it takes longer to Oulx than they say!

Drove back to the UK with a mate in his classic Citroen SM - only bad thing to say about Sauze was that some thieving git stole his wing mirrors. (Unique to the SM).

Loved Sauze and it produced a great memory - there were 3 Irish guys in our hotel - a middle aged guy, his nephew & his nephew's mate. The younger 2 had been out on the lash and one was struggling with his boots the next morning until his uncle spotted that he'd got them on the wrong feet. That's Grappa for you!
