Doing a round trip September to Italy via Bavaria and Dolomites to Lake Garda and possibly return via Tignes to have a ski. Anyone know if it is possible to take a caravan over the Petit St Bernard pass, last week in September? From Italy into France, and then maybe back again.
Outfit is long single axle pulled by Disco 3 TDV6, so power no problem, just widths and bends really. Rather not do much mileage on a mainly single track pass.
Cheers

I think the pass will still be open, but not sure if you'd enjoy meeting a truck coming the other way/or early snow. Years since I've been up there in a car, the last time was in a July and there was plenty of snow about.

Summer skiing ends Sept. 4th !!
Do check your dates as it could be one h**l of a detour if the lifts are shut.

It reopens 25 September, but I have found out that the pass is closed to caravans, so I would have to go around via Mont Cenis, Albertville and Moutier! Probably a bit of a long journey for one or two days skiing!
