Season in Treble Cone or Cardrona?

Hi, i'm heading to Nz to do a season this year, 2011, i'm going to stay in Wanaka and go to either Tc or Cardrona. i've been told that TC has much better snow records and much more challenging terrain but at the cost of adverse weather conditions. i've also been told that the back side of the mountain is often closed. in comparison, Cardrona is less affected by adverse weather but gets a lot less snow and the mountain is a lot more tame and the backcountry possibilities are less. If there are any locals on here who can give me some advice i would i would be very greatful.

Im not a local (sorry), but when we last went to NZ for skiing, the TC slopes are really good and the weather didn't play up except the odd bit here and there.
Have fun though wherever you may go!
