Riederalp - Ski Resort in Aletsch, Swiss Alps - 30km of Piste (1900m to 2900m)

Situated on a sunny terrace high above the Rhone valley with awesome views to the chain of the Valais Alps that includes Matterhorn and Dom. Skiing close to the Aletsch Glacier, at 24 km the Alp's longest. This is a small resort with wooden chalets at the Western end of the Aletsch Ski Pass area. There are no cars and lots of sunshine thanks to its south facing location. Perfectly suited for families. Access by cable car only. Hands free ski card system.

Riederalp

The Swiss ski resort of Riederalp is part of the Aletsch ski area with access to 49 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in Riederalp itself (30km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Aletsch ski resorts of Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp.

The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Snowmaking :- Riederalp is able to augment natural snow, with 30 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 9 Ski Lifts of Riederalp are able to uplift 10,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There is an airport within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Riederalp are perfectly feasible.
