A small purpose-built ski station built in tasteful Swiss 'giant chalet' style and thus looks older than it is. Much of the resort life is centred around the Residence Royal Alpage Club, one of the few après-ski options. At a relatively snow-sure altitude it has a key position in the giant Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil region.

Champoussin

The Swiss ski resort of Champoussin is part of the Portes du Soleil Ski Area with access to 423 individual pistes, served by 209 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Champoussin itself (15 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Portes du Soleil ski resorts of Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins, Torgon, Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, La Grande Terche, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine and Saint Jean d'Aulps.

With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable.

Snowmaking :- Champoussin is able to augment natural snow, with 9 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 7 Ski Lifts of Champoussin are able to uplift 7,950 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are three airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Champoussin are perfectly feasible. Sion Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
