Skiing in Zatrnik

Zatrnik, Slovenia (920m to 1264m)

Closest of the three ski areas associated with the beautiful lake-side town of Bled (7km/4 miles). The slopes have however been closed for several seasons for economic reasons. The huge lake freezes in the winter to enable ice-skating in mid-January. The town itself has its origins in the Iron Age, depicted in a museum (with restaurant) in the castle above. The skiing is best suited to beginners and intermediates.

The Slovenian ski resort of Zatrnik has direct access to 11 individual pistes, served by 5 ski lifts.

The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 5 Ski Lifts of Zatrnik are able to uplift 4,150 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There is an airport within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Zatrnik are perfectly feasible.
