Skiing in Oberstdorf

Oberstdorf, Germany (830m to 2220m)

One of Germany's biggest and best known resorts, as well as its most southerly. Oberstdorf is popular with families year round. There are a wide range of sporting (and not sporting) alternatives to skiing. There are ski areas dotted all round the village. Ski jumping world-cup events are staged here annually. In 2005, the Nordic Ski World Championships took place in the resort for the second time since 1987.

The resort also offers:

•Germany’s longest downhill slope at the Nebelhorn cable lift (7.5 km!)

•The new Söllereck lift is Germany’s longest continuous monocable lift with panorama cars providing a seating space for 6 persons and comfortable boarding for both young and old.

Oberstdorf

The German ski resort of Oberstdorf has direct access to 44km of downhill skiing, with 38 individual pistes, served by 26 ski lifts.

With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable.

Snowmaking :- Oberstdorf is able to augment natural snow, on 2km of ski runs, with 10 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 26 Ski Lifts of Oberstdorf are able to uplift 30,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are two airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Oberstdorf are perfectly feasible. Memmingen Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
