Valfréjus, France (1550m to 2740m)

One of the newest resorts in the Alps, established in 1983, Valfrejus was built on a skiing area called Arrondaz, which had been lift served since 1969. It's close to Modane, the Frejus tunnel to Italy and situated above the old village of Charmaix. As with all of the later generation purpose-built resorts, the architectural style is of a much higher standard than most of the better known areas which grew up in the sixties. Best suited to intermediates, standard purpose-built apres-ski fayre.

Valfréjus

The French ski resort of Valfréjus has direct access to 52km of downhill skiing, with 20 individual pistes, served by 12 ski lifts.

The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 12 Ski Lifts of Valfréjus are able to uplift 10,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are seven airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Valfréjus are perfectly feasible. Chambery Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
