Hopfgarten im Brixental

The Austrian ski resort of Hopfgarten im Brixental is part of the SkiWelt Area with access to 618 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in Hopfgarten im Brixental itself (43 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other SkiWelt ski resorts of Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going am Wilden Kaiser, Itter / Muhtal, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser, Söll and Westendorf.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 20 Ski Lifts of Hopfgarten im Brixental are able to uplift 20,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are three airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Hopfgarten im Brixental are perfectly feasible. Innsbruck Airport and Munich Airport are just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Skiing in Hopfgarten im Brixental

Hopfgarten boasts the longest and sunniest downhill runs (approximately eight kilometres/five miles) in the entire SkiWelt ski area. Top to bottom runs have full snowmaking cover and the Kelchsau ski area almost never has lift queues.

There are good beginner slopes by the village and intermediates have almost limitless terrain.

The SkiWelt Wilder - Kaiser Brixental, of which Hopfgarten is a part, guarantees snow, thanks to its huge snowmaking arsenal. The big range of runs is underlined by the area's motto, the right slope for all inclinations. A KeyCard giving hands-free access to all ski lifts, including those of the linked Kitzbuhel ski area, is included in ski passes valid for three days or more.

Advanced skiers have eight blacks on the circuit to enjoy, one of the best from the top of the Höhe Salve above Söll down through the Leukenwald. There's also the option of signing up with ski school for a powder class.

Cross country skiers have more than thirty kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks to enjoy locally and a total of 170 kilometres of tracks in the surrounding Wilder Kaiser -Brixental region. Neighbouring Kelchsau has a high altitude circuit at 1300m.

Snowboarding in Hopfgarten im Brixental

The Ski Welt has a 'boarder-friendly attitude as well as some useful terrain. There are terrain parks in Ellmau (complete with kicker, rails for sliding and a ground loop), Westendorf and Soll.

Hopfgarten im Brixental Aprés Ski

Hopfgarten and its neighbouring Skiwelt villages offer real Tyrolean winter après ski with a party atmosphere the norm in several night spots.

There are half a dozen bars and two night clubs - 02 and Cin Cin - in the resort.

The Ski Welt resorts go that extra mile to try to keep après ski fun and friendly. One unique initiative is the Ski Bunny scheme which allows women looking for friends to advertise the fact by taking one of the free ski bunny stickers and putting it on their ski suit. Ski bunnies have meeting times and places on the lifts and recommended bars and cafes to meet in. There's also a special chat room on the SkiWelt web site.
