Located above the two villages Sirnitz and Deutsch Griffen and against the magnificent backdrop of the Carinthian Nockberge mountains, Hochkrindl's ski area has expanded to cover 20km (13miles) of ski runs in recent years, for all levels of difficulty, from the easier family run to the more demanding FIS-course for expert skiers and with a terrain park for snowboarders.

The slopes have been officially aawarded the Carinthian excellent piste award. There are also cross-country trails, snow-swept winter hiking paths, toboggan runs and the chance of romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides as well as a Fairytale arena for children and two toboggan runs.
