Hochfügen (Hochzillertal-Hochfügen), Austria (1500m to 2400m)

Hochfügen is 12km (eight miles) by road from the resort of Fügen. It's a modern area with recently installed gondolas and four and six seater high capacity chairlifts. One of the gondolas made the lift link to the neighbouring Hochzillertal area above Kaltenbach, opening up 155km (Nearly 100 miles) of lift linked terrain, most of it with snowmaking coverage.

There’s night-skiing every Thursday from 8 – 10pm and a daily illuminated toboggan run . A free bus service links the ski area and resort and you can stay by the slopes if you wish.

Hochfügen

The Austrian ski resort of Hochfügen is part of the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen Ski Area with access to 49 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in Hochfügen itself (27 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Hochzillertal-Hochfügen ski resorts of Aschau im Zillertal and Kaltenbach.

With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable.

Snowmaking :- Hochfügen is able to augment natural snow, on 1km of ski runs, with 4 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 11 Ski Lifts of Hochfügen are able to uplift 13,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are three airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Hochfügen are perfectly feasible. Innsbruck Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
