The Location

Saint-Gervais is a small Savoyard market town rich in culture and heritage with many traditional buildings such as the baroque church. Located at the north entrance to the Val Montjoie, on the west side of the Mont Blanc Massif (French Alps), it is a picturesque spa town unlike many well known Alpine resorts. It offers all the facilities expected of a ski resort but is not purpose built and has character spanning centuries and an all year round community life. There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shops and facilities in the town and the surrounding area, offering an enjoyable holiday at any time of the year. Its popularity is growing strongly both on the French and international scene, therefore the capital growth potential is excellent.

The local skiing is excellent with easy access to the surrounding ski areas of Megeve, Combloux and Les Houches by the Mont Blanc mountain tramways, incorporating 420km of pistes. St Gervais stands to benefit strongly from the proposed new link into Les Contamines further up the valley. Although there are lots of local activities, St. Gervais is also well placed to provide a touring base for the Mont Blanc region and is one of the best all year round resorts found in the French Alps. It is a very popular summer destination for climbers, hikers and hang gliders looking to take advantage of the spectacular views of Mont Blanc. Locally there are the thermal baths in the village and an excellent golf course less than 30 minutes away.

The geographical position of St. Gervais, at the north west corner of the French Alps, and just a few kilometres from the Autoroute Blanche and the Mont Blanc tunnel, makes it one of the easiest Alpine resorts to reach by car from the UK, Belgium or Holland. It is also within an hour of Geneva airport and half an hour away by car to Chamonix.

The Development
