Snow is forecast in Australia
With just under three weeks to go until the ski season opens in Australia, the latest weather forecasts include several days of light snow and generally cooler weather. The Snowy Mountains should see snow down to around 1200 metres before mid-week and the hills in Victoria should get at least a dusting down to 1000 metres.

Perisher Blue, Australia’s largest ski resort, said the initial dusting would help cool the ground ahead of the ski season, which starts in 19 days.
At Mt Hotham, spokeswoman Lisa Coventry said the resort was being whipped by gale-force winds and rain, with the occasional flurry of snow.
The change in the weather is just what the snow industry had been advised would materialise as the El Nino weather cycle petered out.
