Utah Ski Resort Upgrades

Stellar Resorts reports the following terrain and lift developments at ski resorts in Utah, USA :-
- Alta Ski Area has completed the update to the Watson Shelter Lodge.
- The Canyons Ski Resort will expand the terrain available to intermediate and advanced skiers with the opening of the new Dreamcatcher quad. The Tombstone quad is also being replaced with a 6-seat chairlift to alleviate congestion and provide faster access to more of the resort.
- Deer Valley Resort is replacing the existing Sterling triple chairlift on Bald Mountain with a high-speed detachable quad and is expanding the glade skiing terrain off the Sultan chairlift. A new triple chair has been installed for the 2006-07 season opening up three new intermediate ski runs.
- Park City Mountain Resort is upgrading snowmaking to both allow the resort to open more ski terrain during the early season and to produce snow more efficiently. Three new snowcat machines will be used for on-mountain grooming; allowing the intermediate skier and rider to access more of the mountain.
- Powder Mountain will replace the old double chair lift at Hidden Lake with a high speed detachable quad, cutting travel time on the lift by half to approximately 8 minutes.
- Snowbird Ski Resort is replacing the Peruvian lift with a new high-speed quad and adding, at the top of the lift, a 600-foot tunnel with a conveyor lift to provide access to Mineral Basin.
- Solitude Mountain Resort continues its mission to provide some of the best groomed terrain in Utah by purchasing another new snow cat.
