Season Continues In To May At Zell am See-Kaprun

Austria’s Zell am See-Kaprun will stage it’s annual ‘Sun, Snow & Party Week’ from this Saturday, 29th March. This year celebrities like skiing legend Franz Klammer who will be leading a team of past and present Austrian winter sports stars who are testing the latest ski models for next season of 2008/2009.
For this ‘World Ski Test’, Klammer and his team have chosen the pistes of Schmittenhöhe. This ski area above Zell will later on also be the venue for the popular Splash Contest’ on 6th April. Participants gather speed on a ski jump made of snow before gliding across the water in a huge artificial pool on their skis or boards.
In May the glacier on the 3,200m Kitzsteinhorn glacier offers the traditional ‘Firn & Fun Happening’ at the beginning of the month. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy live music and culinary delights. The ‘Ski & Golf Championship’ in mid-May sees participants go from the downhill slopes straight to the two 18-hole championship golf courses of the region.
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier remains open for snow sports year round.
