New South Wales 2005 season opens

ABC News Online report Ski lifts opening as season’s first snow falls.
“… About 20 centimetres of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours across the Thredbo ski fields. Perisher Valley has received a similar amount, while the Mount Selwyn area has had 13 centimetres…”
Thredbo hopes to open more lifts for the weekend, with temperatures currently hovering around -4 degrees. Ski lifts are also opening at a number of resorts in Victoria’s high country after falls of up to 30 centimetres of snow, with more snow forecast for the weekend.
Skiers and snowboarders are already taking advantage of the conditions at Mt Hotham and Falls Creek.
