Fresh Snow for Perisher Blue
Snow falling at Perisher Blue!

After a sunny start to spring with plenty of blue sky and sunshine, clouds rolled in last night and snow is now falling across all four resort areas of Perisher Blue Ski Resort. The Bureau of Meteorology predicts these snowfalls will continue through to the weekend.
Forecaster, Pete Taylor, believes the storm system could bring between 29cm and 63cm of new snow to the slopes between today and Sunday.
A cold front approaching from the west will see snowfalls continue tomorrow down to around 1400m. This means all four Perisher Blue Resort areas will be blanketed with snow as the lowest point of the resort sits at 1605m. The Bureau predicts snowfalls will ease on Friday as the low moves out into the Tasman Sea, however an upper cold pool and southeasterly winds are likely to see snow showers increase again on Saturday.
Perisher Blue spokesperson Christie Dowling predicts good spring conditions right through to the expected season end date of October 2nd, 2006. “The snow we have seen today has been light and dry and will certainly improve conditions for the last month of the season, she said. “It looks like a fantastic weekend is on the way for those heading to the mountains.
