Europa-Sportregion to be history
The neighbouring ski resorts of Kaprun and Zell am See which share a common lift ticket and have jointly marketed themselves as the Europa-Sportregion for many years, have decided to stop using the name and become simply ‘Zell am See-Kaprun’.
The resorts are highlighting their key assets, particularly snow surety, with the additional markting tag line, “’Glacier, Mountain, Lake’.
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier offers year round snow sports with traditional winter sports on the mountains of Schmittenhöhe and Maiskogel, as well as the additional attraction of picturesque Lake Zell.
The region’s new logo is emblazoned on letterheads, banners, and adverts. It’s colours - white, green, blue - correspond to the core elements: glacier, mountain and lake.
“From now on we want to focus on the features which are typical for Austria, we are going to turn on our original charm.” says Hans Wallner, managing director of the marketing agency of Zell am See-Kaprun Marketing GmbH.
“It is not only the name that changes. ‘The region offers perfect conditions for some sports and leisure time activities. It is those activities that we want to put emphasis on in the future. For guests this means that package deals for activities like skiing, hiking, golf, and water sports are going to be improved and expanded. With these measures, Zell am See-Kaprun intends to stand out from our competitors.”
