Ski Fitness Regime should start now

Now that we, in the Northern Hemisphere, are starting to look to our winter and decide where we’re going to ski, we also need to think about fitness. Are you fit for it yet?
A timely article on Health News Digest, by Sports orthopedist Dr. Kevin Plancher describes weeks of pre-season training.
He reinforces the essential points that should be familiar to us all; the need to work on muscle groups that have lain dormant since last winter, and to stretch and strengthen ligaments and tendons that are rarely used when we’re off the mountain.
Dr. Plancher outlines a plan to address the four key areas of Flexibility, Strength, Endurance and Core Development.
Here on j2ski we’re delighted to offer the advice of Graham Bell to help you work up your fitness before the season starts. Take a look at Graham’s Ski Fitness Tips and start taking action now - the sooner you start, the fitter you’ll be and the safer (and longer) you’ll ski.
