New Direct, Quality Flights With Swiss From Manchester To Geneva

The high quality airline SWISS is set to increase its network out of northern England with the addition of two weekly direct flights from Manchester to Geneva from 14th December. The new scheduled route, now bookable on swiss.com/uk from £117 return including all taxes and free transportation of snowsport equipment, takes SWISS’s number of weekly flights out of Manchester to 26. In addition, SWISS will, from 26 October, begin operating its Manchester to Zurich route on Airbus A319s, offering larger seats and a 24 per cent increase capacity over its current Fokker-operated service.

The new direct route to Geneva will be operated by an Avro RJ100 and is set to operate until 28 March 2009. Flights operate on Saturdays from Manchester at 17.25 and from Geneva at 14.35 and Sundays from Manchester at 10.45 and from Geneva at 07:55.

As well as offering a direct connection to the city of Geneva itself and all its winter offerings, the new service will afford travellers access to a range of acclaimed ski resorts in the nearby area such as Les Gets, Morzine, Megeve, Chatel, Avoriaz, Chamonix, Villars and Verbier.

Gregor Koncilja, country sales manager UK and Ireland at SWISS, said, “We are delighted to be offering this additional connection between the UK and Switzerland, which demonstrates our commitment to both tourism in the Lake Geneva area and to our customers in northern England, north Wales and Scotland. Leisure travellers looking for a ski holiday or extended city break can now escape conveniently and directly to Geneva, whilst enjoying the services of a top quality airline and the associated benefits of free baggage allowance, complimentary transportation of skis, food and beverage and, of course, Swiss hospitality from the moment they board the flight.

“We will also be offering a business class service for those who wish to travel out of Manchester in style and enjoy the benefits of our elegant business class lounge in Geneva.”
