Indoor Ski Slope planned for Suffolk, UK
The Telegraph reports that planners are recommending approval for the proposed GBP 320 million development of a quarry near Ipswich - into a major sports complex including what would be the largest indoor winter sports centre in the world.
With a maximum vertical drop of 100 metres and the longest run being 500 metres it’s hardly going to challenge the Alps but it’s fairly impressive in the setting of Suffolk - one of the flattest areas of Britain.
