Pakistan Ski Expedition 2005 Update 1
We have a brief update from Fredrik and Jorgen:
We arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, about a week ago, where we spent two days. Had a meeting at Ministry of Tourism to get the permits sorted out and some food shopping.
We continued our journey north on the Karakoram Highway, one of only two roads crossing the Himalayan Mountains. Following the Indus River up to the Karakoram Range, it’s a breathtaking journey through deep valleys and high mountains.
We are now in Skardu, the last town before we start trekking into the mountains.
Hopefully we will reach Laila Peak Base Camp within three days, something we really look forward to.
And we’re looking forward to the story of the climb and the descent…
