VERBIER RIDE 06 - Huge Success, the best yet!
The Verbier Ride 06 turned out to be the best Verbier Ride event yet! As part of the IFSA Freeskiing World Tour 2006, (www.freeskiers.org) the Verbier Ride put on a show that thrilled 1000’s of spectators in the Attelas area of Verbier. With one of the highest ever line scores in freeskiing history, last minute snowfalls, base jumping demos, 80 foot plus cliffs and overall super strong and technical riding, the Big Mountain competition of the Verbier Ride proved to be one of the best freeskiing comps seen in Europe.
For the Freestyle contingent there was also a Rail Jam competition and a Big Air event that was a crowd pleaser in the Carrefour area of Verbier. A specially constructed Rail Jam course was made by British riders Andy Bennett and Jamie Cameron with the help of Vertical Rails (www.verticalskate.ch) and Televerbier (www.televerbier.ch). The Big Air was constructed also by these guys and gave the onlookers the chance to see where the future of skiing is heading.
