Snowboarding amputee from Oxford wins medals at US competition

Amputee Carl Murphy has won two medals in the disabled section of the US Snowboarding Association Nationals wearing a unique carbon fibre prosthetic limb. The prototype limb is the only one of its kind in the world and was made by New Zealand based Lab Technologies. 28-year-old New Zealand-born Murphy has just returned to his home in Oxford from Copper Mountain ski resort in Colorado, where he won a bronze medal in the adaptive slalom event and a silver in the adaptive giant slalom.
