Time to replace your analogue avalanche beacon?

As technology marches forward, improvements in modern digital beacons have resulted in the possibility of some of the older analogue models becoming incompatible. Ortovox have advised users of the ORTOVOX F1 Plus, manufactured in the early 1990s, that their beacon is obsolete and cannot be serviced. Also, a recent study in The Avalanche Review questions whether it is time to retire other analogue beacons.
