Free Avalanche Awareness Talks
The Ski Club, in conjunction with Times Online, Snow+Rock and Switzerland Tourism, is holding a series of six evening Avalanche Awareness talks.
The talks will take place at Snow+Rock stores across the UK. They will bepresented by two mountain experts, Nigel Shepherd and Graham McMahon. The evenings will include an introduction to avalanche awareness, practical transceiver searches and prizes to be won.

Nigel Shepherd an international mountain guide (IFMGA) and Alpine Safety Advisor for the Ski club of Great Britain. He is one of the UK’s foremost and most respected mountain experts and works extensively in Europe throughout the year. He is the author of several technical manuals including The Complete Manual of Modern Rope Techniques.
Graham McMahon is an international mountain guide (IFMGA) and mountaineering instructor (MIC). He has climbed many severe faces (E6) on rock, grade VII in winter and climbed to 7000m in the Himalaya. He divides his time between the mountains of Chamonix and North Wales.
