More about Molí Blanc Hotel

Built in the year 1750 next to the Anoia River, the paper mill relied on the constant water supply of the river to function; providing hydraulic energy for the mill and also for the production of the paper. The name Molí Blanc originates from the white lime mortar façades that adorned the building and were screen-printed so as to emphasise the portals, windows and the roof cornice. The floor was composed of clay tiles painted with white lime rhombi. This building has the characteristic form of a Catalonian paper mill; with a windowed balcony, ground floor, first floor and basement. The architecture of Molí Blanc is that of a traditional stately country house, the building a completely isolated entity, surrounded by grounds. The interior architectural distribution fulfilled the technical requirements of a paper manufacturer, while including the owner’s quarters.
