The estate is known for La Torre Bassa (The Lower Tower), an ancient tower visible from the Aurelia motorway, and formerly part of the Collecchio castle, which no longer exists. Located on top of a lower hill immersed in a thick and compact woody maquis, the Tower was built in 1210 during the reign of Aldobrandeschi . It was then taken over by the Marsili family and is known for the legend of Barbarossa (Red Beard).
