A shelter of calm and peace, the residence is a well equipped complex for relaxing stays and exciting holidays. The property owes its name to the proximity to tomb of the great Flavio Magno Aurelio Cassiodoro. He was son of an important functionary of the Ostrogoth king Teodorico who spent his life covering important political functions for the kingdom, whilst trying to blend the Roman and the Gothic elements of his age, and to mediate between the various Barbarian populations subjugated by the empire. His late years were spent studying, writing and founding a 'scriptorium', a sort of monastery dedicated to collect and reproduce manuscripts, whose ruins are still visible in the vicinity of Staletti.
