More about Hotel Marienhof

First mentioned in 1785, the former inn was enlarged and turned into a hotel in 1864 by Josef Fischer. In 1897 the hotel was renovated and equipped with water and gas installations. During the First World War the hotel was used as a military hospital. As a result the Hotel „Fischer“ faced a difficult situation and changed ownership. During the Second World War it was again used as a military hospital. It was completely destroyed during the course of the war and degraded into a ruin. Several efforts to turn the hotel into an apartment house failed. Only the takeover by a hotel operating company brought about a new beginning. In 1978 the hotel was reopened under the name 'MarienHof', shining anew in its old glory. In the years 1986, 1999 and 2006 the hotel was renovated to today’s standards.
