Chalet du Bois is situated on the Pleney nursery slopes in the centre of Morzine. The chalet is one the best located in the resort; discrete and secluded, with the ultimate of ski-in ski-out convenience and yet only a quick stroll from the heart of the village. The cosy wooden chalet has recently been completely rebuilt for us and our design brief has been very simple: ‘picture postcard, chocolate box’ mountain retreat.
We sought to fuse the ambiance of traditional Alpine decor with contemporary design and absolute comfort. To the traditional ingredients of timber panelled walls, massive stone fireplace, weathered oak floors and seasoned timbers we have added a veneer of cool contemporary styling including designer en suite bathrooms and DVD plasma screen with cinema surround sound. The modern day ski essentials of après-ski sauna and hot boot warmers have not been forgotten.
