Casa Alegria - Description

This spacious corner house is at 930m. altitude, in the urban area Residencial El Guijo in the town of Galapagar, between Madrid and the famed El Escorial Cloister. You can reach the centre of Madrid with only 4 bus stops in around 30 minutes; the bus will bring you directly into the heart of Madrid, to the Plaza del Rey. The house has terraces in front and in back, so you can have your choice of sun or shade at all times.

The house is a rather unique place to live in. Residencial El Guijo is built on an old finca (bull farm) and offers for example 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, football-, volleyball-, and basketball grounds. The house is on the highest point of the urban area, and due to this you will have a splendid view of the mountains and, from the balcony, El Escorial in the distance. Because the temperature cools down during the nights, airconditioning is not necessary. The quietness is typical, you will only hear the birds and crickets. Today, El Guijo is the second residence of the richer Madrileños to escape the beautiful but busy city in the weekends. You will also find a reception, pharmacy, grocer's shop, video rental, ATM, 3 play grounds and a 24 hour security.

There are a few ski lifts in the area (2.2 km of ski runs), but you can also tour ski in order to explore the mountains. You’ll find endless possibilities for hiking or mountain biking in the summer. Due to the central location, you’ll be surrounded by true Spanish heritage; not only Madrid is easy to visit, but there is also Segovia, with the most beautiful aqueduct in Europe, and Galapagar, both well worth visiting. Don’t want to cook during your holiday? There are three restaurants within walking distance in El Guijo.
