La Alcandora - Description

La Alcandora is a renovated bodega (approx. 200m2), part of a former doctors house. You will find this holiday house on the ground floor and a floor lower on garden level. On the remaining floors, 3 boarding rooms are rented and the friendly Dutch owners live there. The holiday house has its own private walled around garden, where you can sit wonderfully either in the sun or shade.

The house is situated in the typical white, Andalusia village Sorvilán, where only 350 inhabitants live permanently. There is 1 shop, where you can buy just about anything, or order for the following day. There is even a bar where you can eat on appointment. Sorvilán is within 5km from the Mediterranean Sea. If you leave the town on the other side, then you will soon arrive at the outskirts of the Sierra Nevada, and the splendid nature area Las Alpujarras. The town Granada is located within 75km and this you should not miss during your stay. Resorts are within approx. 10km drive and the town Albuñol within 13km.

In Sorvilán and the surrounding are many wine and almond farmers, due to the steep hills, they can work on their lands by donkeys only, which gives an authentic street image in the many white villages. On request, you can the hospitable people in the town make goats cheese. Often visitors are invites in a bodega to taste a biological wine of the area! The owners can arrange guided walks, where they will tell about the area and the inhabitants; a very interesting excursions! From the town, you can make lovely daytrips by car.

Please note there is no bank in the village, you will find one at 13km. in the village of Albuñol.
