206 - Description

Welcome to this spell binding spot where peace and magic go hand in hand. The castle is located in Caccuri old town, in an elevated position with regards to the town centre. Upon entering the castle via a monumental seventeenth century door, you will feel immediately transported back in time. The castle is brimming with history; it was the stage of several feudal changeovers and played host to some of the most prestigious and powerful families of the time. Bearing witness to its great past, the castle still dominates Caccuri. The sea is just 30 km away (in Crotone) and can be made out on clear days.

There are six guestrooms in the castle (B&B formula) and the masters' apartments, along with a professional kitchen and living rooms. The castle also contains an ancient chapel that you can visit.

Weather permitting, the generous breakfast is served on the roof terrace.

The castle makes a perfect base for visiting Crotone, the town of Pythagora (30 km away). Here guests may choose to head for the beach or the shops. In summer, Crotone comes alive and the town's archaeological museum is well worth a visit.

The Sila plateau is a stone's throw from the castle and is the perfect destination for walking, mushroom collecting and cross-country skiing.

The two en-suite room (B&B formula) occupies a central position in the castle, along with another five rooms, similar in style.

It has been decorated in period fashion to bring history and magic back to life for guests.

Castle guests have free use of the large, equipped kitchen, with extra help provided by staff. A laundry service available.
