Am Forstamt - Description

The splendid Berchtesgaderland is in the middle of the German Alps. It is one of the favourite holiday destinations of Germans and understandably so. The beautiful Berchtesgaderland National Park is 25 km south west of Salzburg. It is shaped like a bowl which is formed by mountains 1700m to 2700m high. One of these, the Watzmann, is the second highest mountain in Germany.

The village of Ramsau is around 12 km west of Berchtesgaden. It is in the Alps and the National Park. It lies at the foot of the Watzmann (2307 m) and the Hochkalter (2608 m) and near the Blaueis glacier. Ramsau is in an imposing, high mountainous area. It is surrounded by the Königsee and the Hintersee with its fairy-tale wood. When you start your walks from Ramsau, you step straight into a spectacular landscape. The ‘Am Forstamt’ Country House is only 500 m from the village centre. It is excellently positioned on the sunny side of the mountain with fabulous views of the surrounding area. The holiday home (60 m2) is on the first floor and has a comfortable interior. If you love majestic high mountain ranges, this is the place for you.
