Chalet LA Chamilly - Description

Abondance lies 27 km. south-east of Evian-les-Bains. Chalet La Chamilly lies 2,5 km. from the centre of Abondance. This detached chalet is peacefully situated at the edge of the forest against a mountain slope. In front of the house runs a brook in where eventually can be fished. The natural environment is surrounded by all peace and the nature has free play. In the area of the house you can extensively (mountain) walk.The area around Abondance is an excellent area for several mountain sports such as mountain biking, climbing, rafting, abseiling, canoeing, visit caves etc. In the summer courses have been set up on the winter ski runs for the mountain bikers. The village is visited in the summer time by many tourists and there are plenty of activities for the young and the old. You can discover various village at short distance and every Sunday there is a local market and in that time the community organizes always a lot of different activities. You can visit the cheese dairy or the abbey of Abondance, which belongs to the oldest abbesses of France. In Chatel is a 3 pool swimming pool for the warm days, a golf practice course, you can go water biking or horseback riding, there are tennis courts and there is a 4 season sled track with a length of over 600 metres. For the real golf lover there are 9 golf courses to be found, in a radius of approx. 1 hour drive, among others in Avoriaz and Evian.You can also visit one of the surrounding cities, such as Evian, Geneva and Thonon. You can revive the culture there, have lunch near the water of go to the health resort of Evian. In Thonon we also find a wine farmer whom you can visit. There is a marvellous marina where boats can be rented. From Thonon you can get on the several authentic steam boats which maintain scheduled services with all the important places at the Geneva Lake, as well as on the French as on the Swiss side. In Thonon, at the Geneva Lake, lies a large outdoor swimming pool in where you can easily spend an entire day. The recently built chalet is of a good standard on the inside and modern furnished and has a sauna. Large balcony facing the west and the south with lounge chairs.
