So where are the ski bargains

Like most years hoped to go skiing twice this year, the second time towards the end of the season, so been January hoped to go end of March beginning of April. But March seems to be more expensive then February this year

Now that the cheap airlines are not exactly cheap any more even Poland is pricey

Going to wait, see if I can get one last minute

Feeling I be going on a Spring brake to the med this year. Can't recall what a beach looks like.

Wait until March... 8)

Given that there is still availability for half-term, you can be pretty confident that March will be heavily discounted as soon as half-term is over.

Just what I was going to say. You will find as half term comes and goes that discounts for early March will start to appear, as tour ops realise they focused so much on the schoool holidays that no one else is going the next couple of weeks!
Thats why I always go first week in March....

When are the half term periods? I am looking for a deal for 6 adults at the moment and would not want to clash with half term - i would be shot!

Any good companies you can recommend for deals in early march?

Wipe out next week and the one following too, depends on area as to when they are off.

As for where to look, try the usual tour ops, including skiworld, look at www.catered-ski-chalets.co.uk, and some of the brokers like bookable ski, direct ski, skideals, snowdeals and Teletext holidays.

French school holidays cover most of February, some running up until 7th March.

My parents were looking at last minute deals next week for half term, and found NOTHING. Plenty of accomodation, but no flights available, so only suitable for those willing to drive.

Good for you! Iam sure thousands of people had cheap holidays with them as with Ryanair.

I booked with them in 2009 for a holiday in 2010.

My experience was that they would not reply to e mails and when I tryed to call them I had to listen to a long message of several minutes before getting through, looking at my phone bill the cost was huge. They promissed to ring back, never did

Then they wanted to charge me GBP80 for a mistake which I consider their fault, I ended paying another GBP30.

They also charged GBP80 booking fee

If anyone wants to risk it, go for it!

With the greatest respect, it sounds like you had 1 bad experience with them, and I note they charged you for a mistake you CONSIDER to be their fault, but I would wager was actually yours but you dont want to admit it, which is why they charged it in the first place. Anyway, I made one phone call to them, and got my holiday booked, simples. Not to say other people dont have your problems, but I dont think its right to dismiss them as somewhere to look for holidays just because you got charged extra admin costs for something that would probably have been the same with any company you booked with.

Yes it was my fault, I did not know my gf name. At best it was a misunderstanding at that point. That night I e mailed them confirming every travelers name,

Maybe I did not hear the phone ring when they called

Maybe I lost their emails when they wrote back

Maybe I dialed the wrong number and that is why I had to a pointless message that went on for ever

Maybe my phone bill is wrong

Yes its all my fault great company you book with them

I compared them with Ryanair, actually Ryanair had the decency to ring back.

Mark there are lot of people o the J2ski forum who have had a bad experience with that company, do what I do don't use them :evil:

Thanks, used to get great alerts from travel zoo, but they seem not to do ski holiday alerts

You could always think about avoiding the TO's... bag a 'cheap' flight - maybe mid-week to mid-week and book somewhere on the tourist info sites for your accommodation.
BnB can be found for under Euro30 pp, half-board can be found for under Euro40... plus cheap stuff on the slopes!
