First time in Europe. Good boarding in April?

Hi there, just moved to the UK from Australia. Would like to go boarding in Chamonix the first week of April. Do you think the snow will still be good? Don't want to pay so much money and then be disappointed! Thanks

Welcome to J2ski This winter will be likely regarded as the best in many years. Reports of 90cm in Chamonix town, which is pretty unusual.

Every time I have visited Chamonix in April there has been plenty of snow, even in "poor" snow years. If you head up to Grand Monetets you should avoid disappointment

Unless you suffer from vertigo, or you're a beginner - in which case you'll be terrified...

However, what bandit said - Grand Montets (above Argentiere - a short bus ride or drive up the valley from Chamonix town) should still be superb in April.

Keep an eye on the snow reports from Chamonix in the meantime.
First time in Europe. Good boarding in April?

April is fine unless you are in a resort that normally closes before/early April. This season has seen a lot of snow al round Europe so the season will go on longer than normal. And of course you must be loving slush riding....
